(Patria) - Suspended President of the BiH Court Ranko Debevec and former Director of the Intelligence Security Agency Osman Mehmedagić will remain in custody for another month, the BiH Court decided.
The hearing for the extension of custody was held yesterday. The BiH Prosecutor's Office requested two months of custody, while the defense requested the imposition of prohibition measures.
"On 16.1.2024, in the case of Ranko Debevec and others, the Court partially accepted the proposal of the BiH Prosecutor's Office and issued a decision extending the custody of the suspects Ranko Debevec and Osman Mehmedagić for a maximum of 1 (one) month, i.e., until 16.02.2024, or until a new decision by the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, for reasons prescribed by Article 132, Paragraph 1, Point b) of the Criminal Procedure Code of BiH," we were told by the Court.
At yesterday's hearing, prosecutor Bojana Jolović stated that they still have witnesses to examine, but that they have so far determined that 60 wiretapping orders have been destroyed.
They are suspected of abuse of position, i.e., illegal wiretapping of judges of the BiH Court and certain employees of the BiH Prosecutor's Office.
