Davor Dragičević: It hurts, son, life without you

(Patria) - The father of murdered young man David Dragičević, Davor Dragičević, announced that it has been a year since he last kissed and saw his son alive. The mortal remains of David Dragičević were exhumed on March 12 from the New Cemetery in Banja Luka and buried on March 15 at a cemetery near Vienna. Family members, numerous friends, and members of the group Justice for David, as well as the family of the murdered young man Dženan Memić, bid farewell to David for the second time.

"Today marks exactly one year since I last felt the warmth of your cheek on my lips, when I kissed you, one year since I heard your voice, one year since I heard your footsteps. It hurts, my son, life without you hurts, but I promise you, my son, justice will come for you. Justice for David."

Although Davor Dragičević disappeared from Banja Luka on December 30, 2018, group members continued to gather and light candles for David. Davor Dragičević is staying in Austria, where David's mother, Suzana, also lives. The legal battle for the truth about the death of the 21-year-old young man will not stop, even though the parents no longer live in Banja Luka, and the next steps will be taken by lawyer Ifet Feraget.

The young man's death has not been clarified for a year. David's body was found on March 24, 2018, at the mouth of the Crkvena river. The family claimed from the beginning that they did not believe David had drowned. They demanded to know how and under what circumstances he died. The investigation was stalled for months, and it was later determined that some key evidence was missing while some was planted.

Only at the beginning of July did the District Prosecutor's Office open an investigation into murder by an unknown perpetrator, but to this day, there has been no prosecutorial decision. The family accuses the political and police leadership of Republika Srpska of involvement in the murder and cover-up.
