Dario Đumić signs for Twente

(Patria) - Dario Đumić, the 28-year-old Bosnian-Herzegovinian stopper, officially signed a two-year contract with Dutch first division club Twente today.

After an excellent season in the jersey of German club Darmstadt, the 193 cm tall stopper has once again changed clubs and decided to continue his career in the Netherlands, where he previously played for NEC Nijmegen and Utrecht.

Đumić has been a member of Utrecht since 2017, and spent two seasons on loan in Germany, specifically at Dynamo Dresden and Darmstadt.

The BiH defender passed his medical examinations at Twente today and put his signature on a two-year contract, with an option to extend it for another year.

"From the first moment I made contact with Twente, I felt that the club really wanted me. That is important to me. I was here with NEC and Utrecht. We lost both times. I remember that the Twente fans left an excellent impression then. I can't wait to play in this stadium. I will do everything to help the team," said Đumić after signing the contract, and technical director Jan Streuer stated:

"It's great that we have Dario in our team and have signed him for several seasons. Various clubs wanted him, but he really wanted to come to Twente. Dario is a strong defender with top-notch strength and knows the Dutch league. He brings special experience with him."

In addition to the aforementioned clubs, Đumić was also a member of Danish club Brøndby and English club Norwich, while in the youth categories he also played for Hvidovre.

The new Twente member also played for the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina, for which he made five appearances and scored one goal.
