Đapo discussed the Uborak landfill with Bešlić

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Federal Minister of Environment and Tourism Edita Đapo received the Mayor of Mostar City Ljubo Bešlić, Director of the Agency for the Adriatic Sea Basin Damir Mrđen, and Director of Public Enterprise Deponija Mostar Abdurahman Bećirović in Sarajevo today. The meeting discussed resolving the current situation and managing municipal waste in Mostar City and its surroundings.

It was emphasized that the waste problem in Mostar, which is threatened by an epidemiological catastrophe due to the inability to dispose of waste at the city landfill, needs to be resolved as soon as possible. Minister Đapo stressed that she hopes the city and cantonal authorities will reach an agreement with the citizens who have been blocking the entrance for trucks and the disposal of waste at the landfill in Mostar for days.

At the meeting, representatives of the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism offered several solutions for the newly created situation, aiming to protect human health and the environment. In the coming period, it is necessary to reach a compromise solution for all parties involved in the process.

It was concluded that Public Enterprise Deponija d.o.o. Mostar should submit organized documentation for further proceedings in the administrative procedure of issuing the necessary act. Minister Đapo emphasized that the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism supports the protection of the environment and human health first and foremost, as this is its jurisdiction, it was announced from this ministry.
