6th Sarajevo Marathon takes place today: Citizens asked for understanding due to traffic suspensions

(Patria) - Due to the holding of the sixth edition of the sports event Sarajevo Marathon, citizens can expect temporary and partial traffic suspensions along the race route from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Starting at 08:00 AM, the marathon, half-marathon, and 5-kilometer race will take place. All races start from Wilson's Promenade.
During the races, traffic will be regulated by temporary suspensions on sections of the route through which competitors pass. Organizers emphasize that traffic on the main city road, on the Marijin Dvor – Ilidža section, will operate without interruption until 10:00 AM, while full normalization of traffic is expected by 1:00 PM.

Organizers call on citizens for patience and understanding due to temporary traffic changes, and also to support the large number of runners – over 2,000 participants from 41 countries around the world.

This year's partner of the event is NATO, and the event is held under the slogan "Connecting people through sport." The Sarajevo Marathon 2025 also has competitive significance as it is also the Championship of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the marathon.
