Meeting on the EUROPOL Contact Point Today: Sattler Unresponsive, Problems Growing

A meeting of representatives of institutions participating in the National Contact Point for cooperation between BiH and EUROPOL is scheduled for today, where there are major problems, which the public has been witnessing for days.

The Federal Minister of Internal Affairs, Ramo Isak, commented on the reaction of the Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nenad Nešić, which is related to the events in the National Contact Point between Bosnia and Herzegovina and EUROPOL.

Thus, Isak asked Nešić if he could publicly announce the consent given by the National Joint Contact Point (NZKT) of Bosnia and Herzegovina with EUROPOL to the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs for the establishment of the SIENA extension – a protected communication channel – at the headquarters of the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs in Banja Luka?

This was not unexpected, as Bosniaks have once again bowed their backs to the wishes of politicians from Republika Srpska, and everything has been presented as a compromise!

We remind you that after ten years, BiH has finally solved the problem of the contact point with EUROPOL. The Minister of Security of BiH, Nenad Nešić, boasted for days after the signing that the Contact Point would be at the Ministry of Security of BiH.

And now, thanks to the fact that the Contact Point was moved from the Directorate for the Coordination of Police Bodies contrary to the law and the constitution, Nešić effectively runs the Contact Point!?

The National Joint Contact Point of Bosnia and Herzegovina for cooperation with EUROPOL is not functioning. More precisely, it is in chaos! In one sentence, everything functioned much better before the establishment of full cooperation with the Agency of the European Union for Law Enforcement Cooperation (Europol)!

This was to be expected, as the Constitution and laws of BiH were derogated on the path to establishing the contact point, and concessions were made to the demands of the representatives of Republika Srpska, so the Ministry of Security of BiH was chosen as the seat of the contact point, and not the Directorate for the Coordination of Police Bodies, even though according to EU guidelines, all channels for international information exchange (INTERPOL, EUROPOL, SELEC, police liaison officer) must be located in one place.

It is now completely clear that one of the goals of moving the contact point from the Directorate for the Coordination of Police Bodies and the incomplete regulation of its work was to create confusion and facilitate unauthorized access to information by certain political options in BiH.

It should also be noted that the Head of the EU Delegation to BiH, Johann Sattler, is aware of everything, but still does not react, which proves that EU leaders are not really concerned about the situation within BiH and how the country functions; it is important to present themselves as successful diplomats in Brussels.
