Protests in Sarajevo Today Over Serious Tram Accident: Accountability Demanded!

(Patria) - An informal group of citizens "Reci dosta" is organizing a peaceful protest today at 3:00 PM in front of the National Museum in Sarajevo regarding the tragic accident in which student Erdoan Moranić from Brčko lost his life.

From this citizens' initiative, they have called on all citizens of Sarajevo to join them at the gathering, where they will demand accountability for the accident that occurred on Thursday, in which four other people were injured, one of them seriously.

Let us recall, yesterday a peaceful gathering of students and professors from the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of Sarajevo was held, joined by numerous citizens. Traffic on the main road at the accident site was blocked, and those gathered carried a banner with the message "This could have been us."

The participants urged the Government of Sarajevo Canton to immediately withdraw old trams from traffic, emphasizing that the safety of citizens must be a priority. They stressed that the situation in public transport can be improved, but that concrete and decisive measures are needed, asserting that financial resources are not an obstacle to solving the problem.
