Protests Today in Front of the OHR: Resisting the Final Attempts at Constitutional and Territorial Destruction of BiH

(Patria) - The Association of Independent Intellectuals Circle 99 has called on citizens to attend today's public warning to the Peace Implementation Council (PIC) in front of the Office of the High Representative (OHR) building in Sarajevo.

Recall, from the recent regular session, titled "How can BiH emerge from the new political siege?", Circle 99 warned that our country is facing a historic turning point and a final attempt at constitutional and territorial destruction of the country.

The President of Circle 99, Adil Kulenović, stated that a state does not fall when it loses territory, but when people stop believing it is worth defending.

He sharply criticized certain centers of power within the PIC that are announcing a reduction of the High Representative's powers and relativizing the decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH.

- That is not reform - it is a withdrawal of international protection at a time when separatism and ethno-territorial divisions are more aggressive than at any time since the end of the war.

The forces that want to divide state property and territory are pressuring today to weaken the High Representative. If the international community gives in, it will send a message that Dayton is open for revision - said Kulenović.

Circle 99 has therefore issued an official invitation to all citizens of BiH, regardless of party affiliation, to come out for today's massive and peaceful protests in front of the OHR building in Sarajevo, scheduled to begin at 6:00 PM.

These are the three key demands of Circle 99 and the citizens:

‣ Preservation of the existing powers of the High Representative until all rulings of the Constitutional Court of BiH are implemented and a functional mechanism for state protection is established, along with reform of the imposed Constitution based on civic democratic principles;

‣ Uncompromising respect for and execution of all decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH - no political option may relativize them;

‣ Clear and decisive opposition to any attempt at territorial division or transfer of competencies from the state to the entities, especially regarding state territory, property, and borders.
