New negotiations on amendments to the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina begin today

(Patria) - A meeting of members of the Collegium of the House of Representatives and the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the Director for the Western Balkans, Turkey and the United Kingdom at the European External Action Service (EEAS) Angelina Eichhorst and the US Special Envoy for Electoral Reform Matthew Palmer will be held today in Sarajevo.

During the day, meetings will also be organized with political parties. After that, a meeting will be organized in Neum on Thursday and Friday, where they will discuss amendments to the Election Law with political officials from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The positions of the negotiators have remained almost the same. The HDZ BiH, without whose consent constitutional amendments are currently not possible, rejects any negotiations regarding the limitation of the powers of the House of Peoples. As recently as yesterday, in statements, it made it clear that a compromise cannot be at the expense of Croats, the HDZ, and him personally.

The Vice President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milan Dunović, commented for O kanal on the statements of the President of HDZ BiH, Dragan Čović, who, together with the leader of SNSD, Milorad Dodik, is creating systemic blockades of the state.

- I am glad that Dragan Čović has finally verbalized what we all in Bosnia and Herzegovina know, and we know that for more than three years, the HDZ and HNS have been creating systemic blockades of the functioning of the Federation of BiH, and now they are trying, together with the SNSD, to create systemic blockades of the functioning of the state. A possible blockade of the holding of elections is also being announced, and today Čović very clearly said that there are no negotiations with him, because they, as one political party, hiding behind the Croatian people, very precisely said that there are no negotiations on the method of electing members of the Presidency and on the delegation of delegates in the House of Peoples.
