A group of about 70 citizens, as many as have registered so far for the "Peace March Sarajevo-Nezuk-Srebrenica", started from Sarajevo this morning, writes Patria.
This eight-day journey, over 240 kilometers long, is walked in memory of thousands of Srebrenica residents who, in July 1995, covered almost 100 kilometers to find safety in Tuzla.
The march from Sarajevo is organized for the sixth consecutive year by the BH Telecom Union and the Unified Veterans Organization of BH Telecom, in cooperation with the Association of Citizens “Witnesses of Their Time”, with the aim of marking the anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica and its surroundings, and paying tribute to the victims of the genocide.
The organized column from Sarajevo will join the participants of the "Peace March" in Nezuk, from where they will continue their journey to Potočari, where arrival is planned for July 11, the day of the collective burial and funeral prayer for the victims of the genocide.
The Peace March starting from Nezuk lasts for three days, from 08.07 to 10.07.2017. Each stage to Potočari is between 25 and 30 kilometers long.
Columns joining this one in Nezuk started earlier from their cities, so a column from Vukovar started on Saturday, and today from Sarajevo.
