Elections in Jablanica Today, Nearly Nine Thousand Voters Eligible to Vote

(Patria) - Local elections will be held in Jablanica today, postponed due to catastrophic floods that hit this municipality.

The postponed elections will be conducted at 22 polling stations, one of which is a mobile team. There are 8,828 registered voters eligible to vote, of which 33 voters vote in absentia for other municipalities/cities (Prozor-Rama, Konjic, City of Mostar, Kiseljak, Gacko, Foča and Čapljina).

In the race for the head of the municipality are the current mayor Damir Šabanović (SDP) and SDA's Emir Muratović.

The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina also adopted a special Instruction on the method of identification and voting of voters in the postponed elections, according to which a voter whose personal documents were destroyed in the natural disaster can exercise their voting right by presenting a personal ID card form with a photo (LK-O-I4) issued by the competent Ministry of Internal Affairs.

To obtain the personal ID card form with a photo - LK-O-I4, the voter must personally contact the competent Ministry of Internal Affairs and report that their identification documents have been destroyed, based on which they will be issued the personal ID card form with a photo LK-O-I4.

The Central Election Commission of BiH appointed two coordinators on behalf of the CEC BiH to coordinate and monitor the postponed elections in Jablanica, the CEC BiH announced.

Local elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina were held on October 6, except in the municipalities of Fojnica, Kiseljak, Konjic, Kreševo and Jablanica, which were hit by catastrophic floods and landslides on the night between October 3 and 4.

Elections in Fojnica, Kiseljak, Konjic and Kreševo were subsequently held on October 20.
