SARAJevo, (Patria) - By reciting Fatiha and a prayer, and laying flowers on the second day of Ramadan Bayram at the Kovači Martyrs' Cemetery, the Day of Martyrs was marked.
According to Islamic belief, martyrs are Muslim believers who die defending their property, faith, life, land, and family.
The Day of Martyrs in BiH was established by a decision of the Riyaset of the Islamic Community in BiH on January 23, 1995.
Flowers were laid today by delegations of associations of martyrs' families, representatives of the Armed Forces of BiH, representatives of state institutions, family members, as well as member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bakir Izetbegović.
Delegation members laid flowers at the grave of the first President of the Presidency of RBiH Alija Izetbegović and paid tribute to him by reciting Fatiha and a minute of silence.
Chief Military Imam Nesib ef. Hadžić said that they came to Kovači today to pay tribute to the best sons of BiH.
- Let us cherish the memory of those who gave their lives for this country - said Hadžić.
