The second day of Eid al-Fitr in Bosnia and Herzegovina is also marked as the Day of Martyrs. On this occasion, numerous delegations will visit cemeteries today and pay tribute to martyrs and fallen soldiers, reports the Patria news agency.
Bosniaks today, reciting prayers and supplications, visiting cemeteries in BiH, remember the best Bosnian sons who gave their lives in the defense of BiH.
The Day of Martyrs is a day of remembrance for all those who, through their brave deeds and nobility in the defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, rose to the brightest examples of fighters for justice, truth and dignity.
At the Kovači martyrs' cemetery, the Fatiha will be recited today at the grave of the first President of the Republic of BiH, Alija Izetbegović, and an address by the Grand Mufti Husein ef. Kavazović is expected.
At the Bey's Mosque at 11:30 AM, a hatma prayer will be offered for the martyrs, and on that occasion the Grand Mufti will address those present.
The Day of Martyrs in BiH was established by a decision of the Riyasat of the Islamic Community in BiH on January 23, 1995. It seems that, as time passes, this decision of the Riyasat is gaining more and more importance and significance. Every year on the second day of Eid al-Fitr, more and more Bosnian Muslims go to the graves and offer prayers for the Bosnian martyrs.
