KS Police Day: Units Lined Up, Ceremonial Academy Held

(Patria) - A ceremonial academy is being held at the Youth Center on Skenderija in Sarajevo on the occasion of Sarajevo Canton Police Day, attended by numerous dignitaries. Prior to this, a lining up of ceremonial platoons of police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of KS was organized.

Among those attending the lining up of units were, among others, the Federal Minister of Internal Affairs Ramo Isak, the Minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of KS Admir Katica, Police Commissioner Fatmir Hajdarević, as well as the legendary commander of the defense of Sarajevo Dragan Vikić, who saluted as he passed by the lined-up units.

Vikić was the commander of the Special Unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of BiH at the beginning of the war, a man who resisted the attacks of the Greater Serbian JNA. At that time, the Special Unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo, commanded by Vikić, began intercepting military trucks with weapons in BiH, for which he was criminally charged.

After the lining up of the ceremonial platoons of the KS police, Vikić also stayed for the ceremonial academy, which began at 4:00 PM and where a suitable program was organized, as every year on this anniversary, attended by numerous dignitaries, including representatives of the KS Government delegation and the Mayor of Sarajevo Predrag Puharić.

Let us remind you, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of KS was founded in 1996, after the establishment of Sarajevo Canton as part of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The first Minister of Internal Affairs of KS was Ismet Dahić, who held the position from November 21, 1996, to December 19, 1998.
