AF BiH Day Marked at Rajlovac Barracks

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - On the occasion of marking the Day of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the 16th anniversary of their establishment, at the location of the “Rajlovac” barracks, on November 30, 2021, the “Presentation of Operational Capabilities of the Armed Forces of BiH” was held.

The presentation of the operational capabilities of the Armed Forces of BiH was attended by the Minister of Defence of BiH Sifet Podžić, Deputy Minister of Defence of BiH for Resource Management Mirko Okolić, Chief of the Joint Staff of the AF BiH Lieutenant General Senad Mašović, Chairperson of the Joint Committee on Defence and Security of BiH Asim Sarajlić, representatives of the NATO and EUFOR staff, as well as numerous other officials, highest representatives of the MoD and AF BiH, and military-diplomatic representatives accredited in BiH.

Members of the Armed Forces of BiH performed a Presentation of Operational Capabilities for all attendees, a presentation of drill movements and procedures by the Honour Guard, EOD capabilities were demonstrated, as well as the capacities of helicopter units for repelling and firefighting, the use of ground radar and air defence systems, and the motor vehicles used by AF BiH units were also presented.

Minister of Defence of BiH Sifet Podžić congratulated all members of the Armed Forces of BiH on the 16th anniversary of the Armed Forces of BiH, and emphasized that some of the capabilities of the Armed Forces of BiH were shown in a very short time. “We have seen the values we possess, and I am glad that we are not only celebrating the 16th anniversary of the formation of the AF BiH at ceremonial academies but that we can also showcase operational capabilities. I congratulate all members of the Armed Forces of BiH on the 16th anniversary of the Armed Forces of BiH", said Minister Podžić.

Chief of the Joint Staff of the AF BiH Lieutenant General Senad Mašović, in his address to the media, pointed out that the readiness level of the Armed Forces of BiH has been significantly raised through a series of activities in the past period, and emphasized the strong international support for the Armed Forces of BiH, which is clearly manifested through support in strengthening capacities, and improving the capabilities and functions of the Armed Forces of BiH.

The presentation of the operational capabilities of the Armed Forces of BiH was held in compliance with epidemiological measures and the current situation with the coronavirus.
