INDEPENDENCE DAY Numerous delegations paid tribute at Kovači and in front of the Eternal Flame

SARAJevo, (Patria) - March 1st, Independence Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is being celebrated across Bosnia and Herzegovina today.

At the Kovači cemetery in Sarajevo, where the first president of the Presidency of independent BiH Alija Izetbegović is buried, numerous delegations laid flowers and paid tribute.

Tribute was paid by members of the BiH Presidency Željko Komšić and Šefik Džaferović.

The Minister of Defense of BiH Sifet Podžić, and the leader of SDA Bakir Izetbegović also paid tribute to all those who perished in the fight for the independence of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Also, numerous delegations from lower levels of government, FBiH, Canton Sarajevo, City of Sarajevo, as well as associations of martyr families, fallen soldiers, war veterans, and demobilized soldiers paid tribute at Kovači.

The delegations then proceeded to the Eternal Flame, where tribute was paid to all those who defended Bosnia and Herzegovina, both in World War II and in all storms and offensives against our homeland. Flowers were also laid at the memorial to the murdered children of Sarajevo and at Vrace.
