
(Patria) - The program marking Independence Day of BiH in Sarajevo began with the raising of the BiH flag on Hum hill. With the intonation of the BiH anthem, the flag was raised on the mast, and the ceremony was attended by members of the BiH Presidency Željko Komšić and Denis Bećirović, as well as representatives of other levels of government.

Before the flag raising, Komšić and Bećirović laid a flower and paid tribute at the Relej-Hum memorial to Fikret Krakonja, a martyr and fallen soldier of the Novo Sarajevo municipality.
Fikret Krakonja died in April 1992 near the relay station on Hum and was the first victim of the Velešići settlement and the Velešići Detachment. He was killed by a sniper bullet at the age of 27, defending his city.
The Mayor of Sarajevo, Predrag Puharić, sent a congratulatory message to the citizens of BiH on the occasion of BiH Independence Day and said that we should remember all those who gave their lives for BiH.
Delegations headed to the Kovači cemetery where flowers will be laid and tribute paid, and then to the Eternal Flame memorial, the Memorial to the Killed Children of Besieged Sarajevo 1992-1995, the Cemetery of Killed Policemen in Veliki Park - delegation of the City of Sarajevo, at the Vraca Memorial Park and at 11:00 AM.
