Statehood Day: Hundreds of children from Sarajevo kindergartens visit the National Museum of BiH

On the occasion of the celebration of November 25 - Statehood Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina, about 30 children from Sarajevo kindergartens visited the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina - an institution that for the last 127 years has been preserving the rich cultural and historical heritage of our country.

The visit to this institution was organized by the Foundation Cultural Heritage without Borders (CHwB) in cooperation with the Public Institution "Children of Sarajevo", and with the help of the National Museum of BiH, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

Children aged five and six visited the Department of Ethnology and the Department of Natural Sciences of the National Museum of BiH, where they learned more from the staff of this institution about the extremely valuable and rare exhibits preserved by this oldest cultural and scientific institution in our country.

The visit to the National Museum of BiH is one of a series of activities that CHwB is implementing in cooperation with the PI "Children of Sarajevo".

The director of CHwB in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Adisa Džino-Šuta, said that the Foundation's members want to bring the diverse and valuable assets of common culture and identity closer to the youngest members of our society.

- It is extremely important for younger generations to learn about our rich cultural-historical and natural heritage, because they will be responsible for the priceless cultural treasure of BiH, and the whole world, in the future. We believe that investing in younger generations is investing in a better future for all of us - said Džino-Šuta.

As part of the visit, the children saw extremely valuable collections of birds, mammals, minerals, invertebrates, as well as a permanent exhibition dedicated to the life and culture of the urban population of our country in the 19th century.

To mark this important date for the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina and in gratitude to the National Museum of BiH, the children held a symbolic program.

The director of the PI "Children of Sarajevo", Jasmina Čongo, said that the visit to the National Museum of BiH is just one of a series of activities that this institution has carried out with CHwB so far.

All activities were carried out so that children, through educational visits, gain knowledge about the cultural and historical heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is a very important part of general upbringing and education that contributes to the full development of preschool children, reports NAP.
