Statehood Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina: Delegation of the Government and Assembly of ZDC Pays Tribute at 'Papirna' and 'Kameni spavač' Memorials

(Patria) - A delegation of the Government and Assembly of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, led by Prime Minister Nezir Pivić and Speaker Ćazim Huskić, on the occasion of November 25, Statehood Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina, laid flowers today and paid tribute at the ossuary to fallen participants of the National Liberation War and the central memorial to martyrs and fallen soldiers "Kameni spavač" in Zenica.



On this occasion, Prime Minister Pivić said that November 25 is one of the most significant dates in the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina, because on that day in 1943, at the First Session of the State Anti-Fascist Council for the National Liberation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ZAVNOBiH) in Mrkonjić Grad, the necessity of joint political and state life of the people in this area was confirmed, as well as the continuity of the state within the borders in which Bosnia and Herzegovina was internationally recognized in 1992.

- Shortly after international recognition, aggression was carried out against Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in defense against aggression and the fight for the highest civilizational values, many Bosnian patriots gave their lives.

That is why today we pay the highest tribute to the martyrs and fallen soldiers, who gave their lives fighting under the flag of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as to the participants of the National Liberation War who also fought for the highest human and civilizational values - equality, freedom and homeland - said Pivić.



He emphasized that these civilizational values are cherished by Bosnian society and that they are confirmation "that under fascist pressure we showed the equality of all citizens and the diversity we nurture, which we will certainly nurture in the future."

- This is confirmation that our future generations will witness our borders, regardless of all obstructions and policies present in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as geostrategic circumstances, but it is confirmation of our statehood of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a long-standing history and values that should adorn the entire world - added Pivić.

Earlier during the day, flowers at the "Papirna" and "Kameni spavač" memorials were laid by a delegation of institutions of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, which included Minister of Spatial Planning, Transport, Communications and Environmental Protection Adnan Šabani, Minister of Justice and Administration Nebojša Nikolić, and Deputy Speaker of the Assembly Goran Bulajić.



The central event on the occasion of November 25, Statehood Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is a ceremonial academy that will be held tonight at 7:00 PM at the Bosnian National Theatre in Zenica, organized by the Government of the Zenica-Doboj Canton.
