Damir Ljubić: Construction of houses for 35,000 displaced persons in BiH to begin in May

Minister for Human Rights and Refugees of BiH  Damir Ljubić told the BiH news agency Patria (NAP) that the regional program, which should build around 5,400 houses for families of refugees and displaced persons in BiH, will begin in May this year.

- All administrative and legal procedures for the implementation of this program have been completed, and the first construction should begin as early as May this year – Ljubić told NAP.

The program for the accommodation of refugees and displaced persons in BiH will provide permanent housing solutions for about 11,000 families, or about 35,000 refugees and displaced persons.

Housing units will be built throughout BiH. The entire project will cost around 100 million marks, and will be largely financed by donations and loans from the European Commission.

- This project should solve a large part of the problem concerning refugees and displaced persons in BiH – says Ljubić.
