Damir Džumhur was defeated in the third round of the US Open by Russian Andrey Rublev with 3:1 in sets, reports the Patria agency.
The Russian won the first two sets with an identical score of 6:4, after which our tennis player played much better in the third.
In the third set, Džumhur played excellent tennis and won 7:5. In the fourth set, Džumhur conceded two breaks to the Russian, which he used and won 6:4.
There remains great regret over this defeat, because Damir played very good tennis at the US Open, and if he had defeated Rublev, he would have achieved his best result at a Grand Slam tournament.
