If UN resolutions meant anything, there would be no need to adopt a resolution commemorating the genocide in Srebrenica today!

If United Nations resolutions meant anything in the legal system, there would be no need today to adopt a resolution recommending the commemoration of the genocide committed in, a UN-protected zone, Srebrenica.

But if it weren't for the UN resolution declaring Srebrenica a UN protected zone, it's questionable whether the genocide against Bosniaks in Srebrenica would ever have been "internationalized". Because the genocide would certainly have been committed. The only question is whether it would have been characterized as genocide by international acts and judgments if the international community hadn't had to wash its conscience. Prijedor can serve as a lesson.

Therefore, it is better for the announced resolution on Srebrenica to be adopted than not. Regardless of the fact that Bosniaks will gain no substantial benefit from the adoption of the resolution. Just as the Serbian people will suffer no harm from its adoption. It will be just one in a series of essentially worthless documents that will, again, serve the authorities of the Western "civilization" to prove they are not against Muslims, while genocide against Palestinians happens before their eyes.

This, in short, is the state of the world. Americans support the resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica, while obstructing resolutions on the genocide in Gaza. At the same time, they advocate for the condemnation of crimes against Uyghurs in China.

The Chinese condemn the genocide in Gaza, while simultaneously denying crimes against Uyghurs. In the Balkans, they support Serbs, and are declaratively on the side of Bosniaks through tenders.

Russians support Palestinians and resolutions on Gaza, but are against the condemnation of genocide in Srebrenica. Plus, in Syria, they are helping Bashar al-Assad in his intention to get rid of Sunnis.

Iran supports Assad's crimes against Syrian Sunnis, but they are "with the Palestinians" in the Middle East. In the Balkans, they are simultaneously for Bosniaks and Serbs.

Saudi Arabia turns a blind eye to Palestine, supports the starvation of Shiite children in Yemen, but they are for the adoption of the resolution on Srebrenica.

Turkey is for all Muslims around the world, but only in words…

All world and regional powers are guided by their interests, not emotions. And that is what Bosniaks should finally understand. Should Bosniaks stand in solidarity with Palestinians? Yes. Should they put Palestinians ahead of their own interests? No.

Should Bosniaks get euphoric about the resolution in the UN General Assembly? No. Because the escalation between Bosniaks and Serbs precisely suits official Zagreb, which speaks through Ivica Puljić's posts and Nevenka Tromp's appearances.

Nevenka Tromp has once again rolled out the story of "revision" and opened the door to a new lawsuit against Serbia for the Srebrenica genocide. She finds this reason in the UN General Assembly resolution, which, in fact, means nothing.

The New York euphoria of Ivica Puljić and the Sarajevo analyses of Nevenka Tromp can only bring harm to both the resolution and the Bosniaks. Because if "Mr. Puljić" and Ms. Tromp cared about international law and Bosniaks, they would have uttered at least one sentence condemning Schmidt's amendments from April last year, which effectively deprived Bosniaks of the right to vote. But they didn't. Nor will they. Because it is contrary to the interests of official Zagreb.

Just as Zagreb, through Ivica Puljić and Nevenka Tromp, deceives Bosniaks with a "historic" resolution, so Aleksandar Vučić and Milorad Dodik deceive Serbs with the story that the resolution is directed against the Serbian people.

The overemphasis on the significance of the resolution on Srebrenica suits both official Zagreb and official Belgrade. It only does not suit Bosniaks, who must understand that even after the adoption of the resolution, they will face the same threat. The threat of biological extinction and the loss of their state.
