Did Buconjić withdraw from Bekan out of fear?

Stjepan Buconjić rescinded the decision on the suspension from work of the controversial Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Labour, Fehim Bekan, which he issued a few weeks ago, after the Federal Government authorized him to lead the Ministry until a new minister is appointed, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

The decision to suspend Secretary Bekan from work was Buconjić's first decision as head of the Ministry, and he made it only five days after taking office under the authorization of the FBiH Government.

Buconjić accused Bekan of being caught committing the criminal offense of abuse of position and authority.
Buconjić personally warned that Bekan had illegally alienated the Ministry's seal in order to hire his own people for several vacant positions in the Ministry.

On the same day he suspended Bekan, Buconjić also filed a criminal complaint against Bekan with the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in Sarajevo, in which he also stated that Bekan, as the secretary of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, had abused his position and authority.

Buconjić also informed the Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nermin Nikšić, about Bekan's criminal activities. He complained to the Prime Minister that Bekan was obstructing his work and requested an urgent reaction from the Government and the Prime Minister.

The atmosphere in the Ministry suddenly changed at the end of last week. Buconjić denied everything he had said against Bekan, annulled his own decision on suspension, and called it void. Buconjić did not provide much explanation for his sudden move, writes Patria.
