Is the session of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina questionable due to the Mioković case?

(Patria) - The Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dragan Mioković (Our Party), stated that he will not resign, and called the request of the Croatian National Assembly (HNS), led by Dragan Čović as president, and the HDZ, cynical.

Mioković said that immediately after the "clumsy" statement on the FACE TV program, he apologized and that he will not resign.

The HNS stated that they demand the resignation of Dragan Mioković and announced the filing of a criminal complaint with the competent institutions due to public statements that incite national and inter-ethnic hatred and have a direct destabilizing effect on inter-ethnic relations in Bosnia and Herzegovina because of the relativization of crimes against Croats.

Mioković publicly responded yesterday to the accusations from the HNS and reminded of the verdict against Jadranko Prlić and others on November 29, 2017, who were sentenced to 111 years in prison for a joint criminal enterprise.

"The man who is at the head of the HNS and who threatens me with a criminal complaint, immediately after the verdict publicly stated that the verdict is unacceptable and that it is a verdict against the Croatian people. It would be politically hypocritical for me to resign, I who apologized, at the request of those who deny crimes, defend criminals and take photos with them, and it does not occur to them to apologize to anyone for that," Mioković stated.

Next week, on January 19 and 20, a two-day session of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is planned, which includes the Budget of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for 2026. The question remains whether the HDZ will attend that session, i.e., whether they will first seek Mioković's dismissal. Although there is a quorum for work even without the HDZ, the problem is voting because without the HDZ, the ruling coalition does not have the necessary majority.
