Did Crnadak misuse the ambassadors' gathering in Jahorina

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Igor Crnadak today organized a gathering in Jahorina with ambassadors and heads of diplomatic offices of foreign countries based in Sarajevo, where the tourist potentials of this Olympic mountain were also presented.

The topics of discussion with the ambassadors and heads of missions were the current political situation in BiH, the European integration process, and other activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH, Patria reports.

At the very beginning of the discussion, the minister said that BiH has entered a deep crisis and it is very difficult to see a way out at this moment, because institutions have been attacked and the political balance in BiH, established by the Dayton Peace Agreement, the BiH Constitution, and laws, is threatened. In his conversation with the ambassadors, the minister emphasized the need for all decision-making in BiH to return to institutions, as extra-institutional action and the introduction of parallelism in the work of institutions threaten internal relations in BiH and can lead to a standstill in reforms and the European integration process.

The minister expressed his expectation that the representatives of the international community will support the principles of compromise and dialogue, as well as the importance and role of institutions, instead of outvoting and making decisions outside of institutions on significant and sensitive issues.

Speaking about the possibilities for overcoming the mentioned crisis, the minister stated that those who have belittled institutions, even though they knew they were producing the biggest political crisis in the last 20 years, should offer a proposal on how to overcome this situation and return to the path of reforms, European integration, and developing relations with neighbors.

Speaking about the revision of the judgment of the International Court of Justice in The Hague, the minister said that he believes that based on the facts that the Presidency of BiH did not make a decision on submitting a request for revision - although it was included in the proposed agenda of the session, nor a decision on authorizing the BiH agent to initiate the revision, it is clear that the legitimacy of the decision itself, as well as the legitimacy of the person presenting themselves as an agent, are questionable and problematic, and that the International Court of Justice in The Hague will soon be informed of all these facts.

The minister informed the ambassadors that the cabinet of the BiH Presidency member Izetbegović, with an instruction prohibiting the delivery of the Minister of Foreign Affairs' letter, has also jeopardized the functioning of the diplomatic-consular network of BiH, that this is an unprecedented precedent, and asked the ambassadors to consider what would happen in their countries if such a case occurred.

The minister also informed the ambassadors that he sent a letter to Mr. Izetbegović with a detailed overview of possible consequences, and invited him to withdraw the illegal and dangerous instruction to the ambassador, but that he has not yet received any response.

The second part of the discussion was dedicated to BiH's European integration, preparations for the Western Balkans Summit in Trieste, improving regional cooperation, and BiH's participation in the global coalition against terrorism.
