Civil Protection units in Brčko are on alert due to several critical points on local watercourses in the southern part of the district, said the head of the Government Department for Security Uroš Vojnović.
He emphasized that the water level of the Sava is still far from the regular defense measures, and that the problem is caused by a sudden rise in groundwater in parts of the city and an unorganized sewage network in the settlement of Palanka.
- Teams are on the ground monitoring the situation. We are ready to react if the rainfall continues and Tinja, Brka, and smaller tributaries overflow, said Vojnović.
