(Patria) - Deputies of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska are voting at a special session on the protection of vital entity interest, initiated by a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željka Cvijanović.
She requested the deputies to confirm the veto mechanism to prevent the entry into force of the disputed conclusion supported by two members of the Presidency of BiH, Željko Komšić and Denis Bećirović, regarding the “escalation of attacks by Republika Srpska on the provisions of the Dayton Agreement and the endangerment of the constitutional and legal order of BiH”.
“The National Assembly of Republika Srpska is not obliged to answer to the Presidency of BiH,” Cvijanović emphasized, pointing out that the joint body is being abused in this way.
She stresses that the National Assembly of Republika Srpska has not passed any act that violates the territorial integrity of BiH, but it has pointed to harmful international interventionism.
On the other hand, Komšić commented today, when asked by journalists, on the situation regarding this session.
“It’s a political play. Although we all know more about this veto. It’s a performance in which someone from Sarajevo wants to show that they want to harm Republika Srpska. There is constant shouting, noise about the endangerment of RS. And nobody is touching it, and in the end, even if they wanted to, they couldn’t because it would be a violation of the Constitution. It’s flexing political muscles,” Komšić stated.
