Cvijanović slowly changing course: Referendum may be unnecessary

Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Željka Cvijanović stated that the referendum on the Court and Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina can only be abandoned if the goals of the structural dialogue are met, such as the implementation of the war crimes strategy, reports the Patria news agency.

-This means adequate trials, equality before the law regardless of ethnicity, and avoiding the practice of creating a new political reality through judicial decisions, Cvijanović said in Banja Luka.

She added that jurisdictions must be clearly, precisely, and unambiguously regulated.

Cvijanović emphasized that stories about them "backing out" of the referendum are not true, because it will have to be carried out.

She stated that these are standard procedures, which certain parties, for various motives, have challenged by disputing general and individual acts.

-Everyone who believed they had the right to complain and take certain steps did so, Cvijanović said.

She stated that there are no other obstacles and that they want all procedures to be respected, BNTV reports.
