Cvijanović: I have the right of veto on adopted conclusions proposed by Bećirović

(Patria) - Speculations that have appeared in some media that the adopted conclusions proposed by Bosniak member Denis Bećirović at the Presidency session were adopted and that I do not have the right of veto are not true, stated BiH Presidency member Željka Cvijanović at a press conference in the Administrative Center of the Government of Republika Srpska.

Cvijanović stated that she has the right under the Constitution to address the National Assembly of Republika Srpska and seek protection.

"There will be a second round of voting, and I assume the outcome will be the same as at the previous session, two to one. It is certain that I will exercise my constitutional right to initiate a veto, in case I am outvoted at the BiH Presidency session. I have already held consultations. Everything stated in those conclusions relates to foreign policy because the Dayton Agreement, high representatives, and neighboring countries such as Croatia and Serbia are mentioned, and an intervention by the EU is requested, for which it will never receive support," said Cvijanović.

Cvijanović emphasized that Bećirović is trying to attract international attention with his actions.

She also spoke about the structure in the BiH Armed Forces where the Chief of the Joint Staff of the BiH Armed Forces should be appointed, and that at the proposal of the Minister of Defense Zukan Helez, the candidate is from the Serb people.

"We have a slightly bigger problem there. It is a manipulation aimed at delaying the appointment of a Serb to the head of the Joint Staff of the BiH Armed Forces. We did receive a letter that NATO is interested in consultations. There is a certain order that a Serb should come to that position," said Cvijanović.
