'Guardians of Bosnia' in Herzegovina: Citizen security must be paramount, need for more frequent meetings highlighted

(Patria) - In recent days, representatives of the association ‘Guardians of Bosnia’ visited the Herzegovina region where they met with members of associations from Gacko, Nevesinje, Trebinje, Stolac, Mostar, Livno with the aim of assessing the situation, primarily the security of citizens, predominantly Bosniaks in that area, as well as the protection of human rights and the constitutional order.

"The reason for the meetings is the increasingly difficult current situation in BiH and relations with the countries of the region, generated by the policies of Aleksandar Vučić and Milorad Dodik, as well as their exponents in the form of the Trojka coalition. Namely, attacks and intimidation of returning Bosniaks have been recorded in these places, contributed to by the rhetoric of the authorities of Republika Srpska and Serbia.

It was particularly emphasized that the population does not feel safe and protected by state security agencies and institutions, as well as politicians, who have not adequately engaged to protect this population, which increases fear and concern.

Finally, the need for more frequent meetings and activities was highlighted so that through the work of ‘Guardians of Bosnia’, non-governmental organizations, and institutions with sensitivity, the most important issue of life – security – can be improved", it was announced.
