Crvena zvezda wins ABA League

BELGRADE, (Patria) - Basketball players of Podgorica's Budućnost were hit with firecrackers and hard objects from the stands immediately after the entire team entered the warm-up before the match against Crvena zvezda in Belgrade for the ABA League title, forcing them to return to the locker room. As soon as the guests stepped onto the court, a "rain" of objects flew from all sides, and several fans entered the court in an attempt to confront the players, but security reacted quickly. Also, chants of "Albanians, Albanians" and "Kill the Albanian" were heard.

The match started an hour late and was played in a tense atmosphere.

Crvena zvezda basketball players defeated Budućnost from Podgorica with a score of 97:54. The first two matches played in Belgrade went to Crvena zvezda (91:71 and 107:69), and Budućnost responded in kind in Podgorica (80:72 and 84:80). The decisive match was on the verge of escalating conflict as the visiting players were met with an attack by home fans, which also affected the course of the match and the stability of the Budućnost players.

By winning against Budućnost and winning the ABA League, Crvena zvezda secured participation in the Euroleague next season.
