Crnadak: There will be no referendum on the independence of the RS

The current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the reform process, and the progress BiH has made on the path to European integration were the topics of discussion between BiH Minister of Foreign Affairs Igor Crnadak, who met in New York with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

Upon his return from New York, Crnadak called a press conference where he spoke about what was discussed with the UN Secretary-General.

- At the meeting, we were told that the new administration is concerned about the possibility of a referendum on the independence of the RS. I made it clear that those of us who live in the RS love the RS and there can be no playing with territory, but also that there will be no referendum on independence and that people want to build their future within the framework of Dayton - Crnadak said.

The minister says that such questions speak volumes.

- When you get a question like this, you see how much manipulation with Dayton has been done over the past 20 years. I instructed our embassy to be much more intensive towards the new administration in conveying all information about BiH. I will soon meet with the heads of all Security Council countries.

Regarding the responses from the EC Questionnaire and why the responses from the RS were delayed, he said:

- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs completed all responses on time. What we dealt with most were issues of regional and international cooperation of BiH. Certain issues were worked on with the BiH Presidency when it comes to foreign policy.
