Crnadak: You scared the people, threatened judges that you would take their property, and now you are withdrawing

(Patria) - Around 6 PM, the discussion began on the remaining agenda items of the special session of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, which repeal laws already repealed by the BiH Constitutional Court, and concern the issue of state property and the law prohibiting the operation of BiH institutions on the territory of Republika Srpska (Court of BiH, Prosecutor's Office, HJPC, and SIPA), the Law on HJPC, the Election Law of Republika Srpska, after the discussion on the appointment of acting President of Republika Srpska, Ana Trišić-Babić, was concluded.

These items also caused a sharp debate, and Igor Crnadak (PDP) stated that the proposed repeals include the Law on Immovable Property of Republika Srpska, the Law on Non-Application of Decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH, the Election Law of Republika Srpska, the Law on Prohibition of Operation of BiH Judicial Institutions on the Territory of Republika Srpska (Court of BiH, Prosecutor's Office of BiH, SIPA), and the Law on the Formation of the HJPC of Republika Srpska, as well as conclusions that stipulated non-compliance with the High Representative's decisions.

"Today you repealed the law under which Milorad Dodik was convicted. You scared the people, threatened judges that you would seize their property. And that has now been repealed. Let people remember what a drama and tension you created," said Crnadak and added:

"We call on you to tell us what Republika Srpska gained by repealing these laws. Tell us specifically. Sanctions, are sanctions being lifted. Tell us, and we will support it. Don't just tell us that RS will gain something, God forbid something will be taken away from us, entity voting," said Crnadak.

Željka Cvijanović, member of the Presidency of BiH, also addressed the session several times, stating that they adapt to the situation.

"When you are malicious towards us, we pass laws; when someone more normal appears, we say we will withdraw them, okay. They served their purpose. We can pass them again tomorrow," said Cvijanović.

"I am in favor of repealing them. We should give a chance to those who gave us a chance. We have agreed on many things," added Cvijanović.

Before the discussion, Srđan Mazalica gave introductory remarks, as SNSD is the formal proposer.

"We are trying to reset all of this, to take these laws and decisions one step back in order to move forward. Russia is taking over the presidency of the UN Security Council, we have increasing votes condemning Schmidt's actions, and it would now be a significant message that Republika Srpska is not someone who obstructs and is ready for compromise. Even if it is a step back, it does not harm Republika Srpska; if we fail, we will pass these laws again. This is not about trading; it is about an attempt to make a step towards establishing a normal constitutional and legal order in BiH," said Mazalica.

Some opposition MPs reminded that laws from 2023 and 2024 are being repealed.

"What would happen today if they had listened to you and left the institutions. You are withdrawing now, and we should remain in the proceedings because we were the subject of investigations by the Prosecutor's Office of BiH," said Nedeljko Glamočak from SDS.
