Crnadak at IAEA: New emphasis on the Trgovska Gora problem

(Patria) - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Igor Crnadak will lead the BiH delegation at the 53rd General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), to once again, after four years, draw attention to the problem of radioactive waste disposal at Trgovska Gora within the highest international body for nuclear energy, under the auspices of the United Nations. 

The General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency will be held from September 16 to 20 in Vienna.

At the IAEA General Conference in 2015, Crnadak pointed out the problem related to Trgovska Gora, which was recorded by that organization, after which intensive activities followed by institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republika Srpska, the Federation of BiH, and local communities in the fight against the announcement by the Republic of Croatia that radioactive waste from the Krško Nuclear Power Plant would be stored right on the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina, near Novi Grad. According to estimates, the disposal of radioactive waste would directly endanger several hundred thousand people in nine municipalities in the Una River basin.

Crnadak and the BiH delegation will once again draw attention to this problem so that the Republic of Croatia abandons the storage of waste on the border with BiH, it was announced from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH.
