Church meddles in politics again, believers received leaflets with a message: Let's cast our nets on the right side

In the church of St. Mark in Vinica, a town in Varaždin County, some citizens were unpleasantly surprised by the content of the so-called church leaflet they received. It advises on how and for whom to vote, directly advising the choice of the right side, reports the Patria News Agency.

Index received a photo of the controversial part of the leaflet from a reader via email, showing a paragraph titled "Jesus and Parliamentary Elections". It clearly states - vote right.

"Since it was dawn, Jesus stood at the end, but the disciples did not know it was Jesus. Jesus said to them, 'Children, do you have anything to eat?' and they answered him, 'No.' And he said to them, 'Cast your net on the right side of the boat and you will find.' Peter said, 'Lord, we have toiled all night, but we have caught nothing. But at your word I will cast the nets.' They cast and could no longer pull the nets because of the multitude of fish. Without God's help, we, as a country, will not be able to get out of the crisis. Let's listen to Jesus and cast our nets on the right side!" the church leaflet states.

This is just one of the ways the Church interferes in elections and the choices of citizens. A few days ago, Cardinal Josip Bozanić called on citizens in a letter to vote for HDZ.
