Crishock: Decision on 'Serbian House' is before the Arbitral Tribunal

(Patria) - The purchase of a vacant casino building in Brčko District, the so-called "Serbian House", by Republika Srpska, has led to claims that the Final Arbitral Award for Brčko has been violated or jeopardized.

"Full and consistent implementation of the Final Arbitral Award and respect for the Statute of Brčko District remain the highest priorities of the Presiding Arbitrator and the Supervisor for Brčko District. It is exclusively within the jurisdiction of the Presiding Arbitrator and the Arbitral Tribunal to determine when and if a violation of the Final Award has occurred", stated the Supervisor for Brčko District of BiH, Louis Crishock.

The Supervisor welcomes the recent joint statement by the leaders of Brčko District, in which they commit to resolving all issues responsibly, through dialogue, and in accordance with the provisions of the Final Award.

"Brčko District is a textbook example of successful multi-ethnic governance. Its leaders deserve our full support. Undermining their efforts with sensationalist statements is not in the interest of either Brčko or Bosnia and Herzegovina", Crishock concludes.
