Čović's message on the occasion of Bosnia and Herzegovina's Independence Day: A historical confirmation of our homeland's endurance

Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dragan Čović sent a congratulatory message to the citizens of BiH on the occasion of Independence Day.

- We celebrate Independence Day as a historical confirmation of the endurance of our homeland Bosnia and Herzegovina, a community of constituent and equal peoples - Serbs, Bosniaks and Croats, and all its inhabitants.

I invite you to mark it with dignity and remember the values that we inherited through achieved independence. Independence and sovereignty are a dearly paid pledge for the future of our homeland, all its peoples and citizens, and therefore they oblige us to exceptional social and state responsibility.

By opting for independence, we also opted for the constitutionality, equality and equal rights of all our peoples and citizens, which makes this kind of commitment a moral, human and constitutional obligation.

Let us join forces in promoting these values, strengthening them in our homeland, in order to build an environment of trust, reconciliation and togetherness.

Let us harmonize our social values and relations with European standards, let us raise the bar. Our peoples and citizens deserve that! Let us be tolerant and open to each other because we are bound by the common ideas of equal rights and freedom.

Let us accept our differences as our permanent wealth and a solid foundation on which we will build togetherness and a happier future for all of us - stated Čović in his message.
