Čović in Zagreb with Plenković: Again puts the Election Law first, calls priority laws 'others'?!

(Patria) - Dragan Čović, president of HDZ, met today with Croatian Prime Minister
Andrej Plenković. Čović traveled to Zagreb, from where he once again uttered the old mantra regarding BiH's path to the EU, emphasizing the BiH Election Law as the main condition for BiH's path to the EU, which does not correspond to reality at all.

"In Zagreb, we spoke about bilateral relations, current political circumstances, and BiH's European path. The Election Law and the remaining reform prerequisites urgently needed for stabilization and progress. Opening negotiations is key for the EU and BiH," Čović wrote on network X.

For Dragan Čović, the Election Law is the priority of all priorities, he places it first, and calls other important reform laws 'others', not wanting to specify what he is referring to.

And he persistently does so, while the Troika tries to balance, and Europe tries to save BiH by reducing the list of priorities. However, the BiH Election Law is not on any list, but Čović does not participate in the drafting of other priority laws without these amendments.

Progress in reforms, specifically, laws on preventing money laundering and financing of terrorism, on conflict of interest, and on courts are expected. This was recently emphasized by Angelina Eichhorst, Director General for Europe at the European Union External Action Service (EEAS), but Čović from Zagreb clearly shows that he is not interested in anything other than the Election Law.
