Čović in Mostar: We should be proud of all the good that has emerged from 'Herceg-Bosna'

(Patria) - By laying wreaths and lighting candles at the memorial in front of the Croatian Home of Duke Stjepan Kosača, and with a round table discussion titled "Falsifying History", 30 years since the founding of the criminal entity, the so-called Croatian Republic of Herceg-Bosna, was marked in Mostar today.

- Today is a very significant day, with this act we stood in defense of our entire Croatian people and Bosnia and Herzegovina, because we understood that no one else would organize and oppose the attack on BiH, the endangerment of life and property.

When Ravno was attacked in 1991, everything was burned and scattered, the messages were clear, we organized ourselves through the Croatian Community of Herceg-Bosna, and later through the Croatian Republic of Herceg-Bosna - said the leader of HDZ BiH and the Croatian National Assembly of BiH, Dragan Čović.

He says he is pleased that "we managed to implement all the legislative, executive, and judicial institutions of HRHB as a constituent part of today's Dayton BiH, in our homeland."

- The fact is that where we were not organized, the Croatian people suffered and were scattered. We can be grateful to every individual who had the wisdom and courage at that time and who visionarily recognized the moment to protect their people.

The significance of HRHB will be researched by historians and scientists for a long time, and as far as politics is concerned, we need to promote it credibly and be proud of all the good that has emerged from HRHB - Čović proudly stated.
