Čović, in agreement with Dodik, blocks the formation of government in BiH

Šemsudin Mehmedović, SDA delegate in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, in his review of the past week analyzed the negotiations taking place between HDZ, SDA and DF regarding the formation of government, reports the Patria news agency.

This week was marked by an attempt to reach an agreement between four political groups regarding the establishment of both the FBiH Government and the Council of Ministers.

- Regarding the Council of Ministers, it seems there is a preliminary agreement in which, unfortunately, the SDA has lost significant political influence, and as a result, the SDA nominated the Chair of the Council of Ministers, and that is, as they say, an ace up the SDA's sleeve. However, the powers that the Chair of the Council of Ministers has are insignificant compared to the levers that the SDA has lost, especially in the security, defense and economic sectors covered by the Council of Ministers – says Mehmedović.

He adds that he fears that the political agreements and the political approach that the SDA pursued actually determined the SDA's stance on personnel solutions, which he considers bad, but adds that one should not prejudge but rather give a chance to all those who are elected to show what they know and can do.

- The attempt to reach a political agreement in the FBiH Government seems to me to be backed by political calculations and informal agreements to block the processes of establishing the FBiH Government, in which the good friendly relations between Milorad Dodik and Dragan Čović have certainly played a role. It seems to me that there is an attempt to block the establishment, and then an attempt is made to blackmail the establishment of the Council of Ministers, and even some cantonal governments, at the expense of the failure of the political agreement to form the FBiH Government – emphasizes Mehmedović.

It is certain that in the next four years, no matter how the governments are formed, adds Mehmedović, we will face very difficult political circumstances.

- That will have consequences for everything else, because it is obvious that those who received the support of the citizens will have a hard time, as there is no sincerity on the part of those who consider themselves authentic representatives of the Croatian people. All that negative energy they have accumulated over the last four years due to the SDP's policies, they are now trying to bill to the current political winners, the SDA and DF. That political agreement will be difficult, and the establishment of the FBiH Government will be delayed – added Mehmedović.
