Čović withdraws, but shows 'respect' for the country with sessions scheduled for a holiday!

To the participants of the meeting organized by Milorad Dodik, a letter signed by the EU Ambassador to BiH Johann Sattler, the Head of the OSCE Mission to BiH Ambassador Kathleen Kavalec, and the Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy in Sarajevo Ellen Germain has arrived.

Participants of the meeting were warned in the letter that as heads of services, they must be independent of political influence and refrain from any activities that could jeopardize their independence.

It is clear here that the policy of blockades has been defeated, no matter how much Dodik approves of it and calls it legal, and HDZ cadres are wholeheartedly helping him. An example is the Minister of Civil Affairs Ankica Gudeljević (HDZ BiH).

What is interesting is that this Ministry considers absence from work with the approval of Zoran Tegeltija not to be a problem. The Ministry of Civil Affairs, in its response to Patria regarding what it will undertake against officials who were in East Sarajevo, stated that the fact that Tegeltija suggested attending a political rally is sufficient, and there is no doubt that secretary Biljana Čamur Veselinović and another person were absent from work. It is evident that, unfortunately, foreigners in BiH have to spell out to individuals what the law says.

Milorad Dodik is losing his grip, becoming increasingly nervous, as evidenced by his daily press conferences where he talks about science fiction. However, the withdrawal of Dragan Čović (HDZ) from the public space is more interesting.

Čović is making slightly milder statements after the statements of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State of the United States of America, Matthew Palmer, who spoke about the latest political crisis in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In an interview with Voice of America, Palmer said that BiH cannot afford to stumble from one crisis to another.

"Mr. Dodik has previously behaved in a way that is inconsistent and incompatible with the Dayton Agreement, and for that reason, he was the subject of American sanctions. Anyone who joins anti-Dayton positions risks triggering such a response from the United States," said Palmer.

Čović publicly joined Dodik in blockades and attacks on the Constitutional Court of BiH, thereby bringing Bosnian Croats into conflict with Washington and bringing them closer to Moscow!

Čović is slowly withdrawing, and Dodik could be collateral damage in the campaign against the Constitutional Court of BiH. After the US, European countries are also close to deciding to impose sanctions on Dodik. It is obvious that his partner Čović is aware of this, so he is softening his rhetoric, but he still shows his respect for the country of BiH by holding sessions of the Presidency of HDZ and HNS on March 2, a non-working day, as it is a transfer from March 1 – Independence Day!
