Čović regrets: Coalition with the Troika is a mistake we were motivated into by Murphy

(Patria) - We will probably sit down soon, take the agreement we made, analyze it and see whether we will continue or part ways peacefully - said Čović, speaking about the ruling coalition at the level of Bosnia and Herzegovina, adding that the European path is a priority.

He explained that so far they have talked to all options, including the SDA, emphasizing that the talks were mostly conducted by party members.

- We are doing the same in the FBiH. There are problems there too - he added during a gathering with journalists in Sarajevo.

He also stated that for now there will be no dismissals at the state level.

- We stopped the dismissal of Konaković and he knows that - he said.

He called the coalition with the Troika a mistake.

- We made a mistake under pressure from friends in international institutions. We did that once and never again. It is a mistake when someone from outside gathers you and says you must form that coalition. That is a mistake. You watched it and remained silent - Čović believes.

He indirectly stated that he was forced into this coalition by US Ambassador Michael Murphy. Speaking about Murphy, whose term has ended, Čović said he sent him a letter and wished him all the best.

- I met him about 15 years ago and we had a cordial relationship back then. His role was different at that time. He came to BiH and took on a certain role. I realized he was going completely the wrong way, and I could have suffered because of it. I said, impose sanctions if I deserve them - he said about Murphy and added:

- The word force is not the right word. They motivated us to do it. He was enough of a motivator, just as he motivated all Bosniaks to vote for the Southern Gas Interconnection. No one will impose sanctions - he added.

He also said that the election of Kemal Ademović, on his own initiative, to the leadership of the House of Peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina was a mistake. Regarding the High Representative, he stated that "we have him now and God knows if we will ever have him again".
