Čović: We have a unified stance with partners from FBiH, BiH Budget is important and must be adopted

(Patria) - A meeting of representatives of parliamentary political parties from the Federation of BiH, HDZ BiH, and the "trojka" parties SDP BiH, NIP, and Naša stranka was held in the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, after which they addressed the media.

The President of HDZ BiH, Dragan Čović, stated that they gathered today with the desire to go through all the topics they have been trying to agree on for months.

"So, the agenda included everything from the BiH budget for 2024, the election law, all other laws related to the European path, decisions, and obligations from the Federation of BiH, such as the Constitutional Court judge, and some other decisions," Čović said.

He added that they have a few days left before heading to Brussels, where they will have joint meetings.

"If we continue as we discussed tonight, we could encourage other partners to create a realistic picture for BiH to eliminate its shortcomings and then, through December, open the negotiation process. I think we have a unified stance on all these topics at the FBiH level. Tomorrow, we will see how to arrange these matters with SNSD. We need another positive step to get out of the crisis," Čović said.

He added that compromises are necessary to reach solutions regarding the pending laws, which are the Law on Courts, the Law on Conflict of Interest, and the Law on Prevention of Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorist Activities.

"The budget at the BiH level is crucial for us, and we need to agree on it with our partners so that it is adopted at the BiH level concurrently with the adoption of entity budgets. We are also discussing a large amount of funds from the EU, and we must have a key document. This would also be a message that we can make decisions," Čović said.

He announced new meetings and further strengthening of their relations for the next ten days.
