Čović against Schmidt and partners from the Trojka: At the Council of Ministers, the Proposal for the Election Law in HDZ's absolute rendition

(Patria) - President of the Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HDZ BiH) Dragan Čović stated today on the sidelines of the Mostar Security Forum that the agenda of the next working session of the Council of Ministers of BiH will likely include the proposal for amendments to the Election Law of BiH, prepared by the Minister of Justice of BiH Davor Bunoza.

Čović said he received for review the proposal for amendments to the Election Law prepared by the "Trojka", but that proposal will not be considered, but rather the one already in procedure.

"This is one of those solutions you have already had the opportunity to hear about through the media, where you have technical amendments, where you have the Central Election Commission, where you have the Presidency of BiH, and we will see to what extent we will be able to adopt it at the Council of Ministers," said Čović.

He recalled that at the last meeting of partners at the state level of government, it was agreed that within 15 days, amendments to the Election Law of BiH should be attempted to be adopted in Parliament, in order to compensate for the decisions imposed by the High Representative.

"In that direction, we will be able to proceed if we maintain focus on electoral legislation and the need to try what we all want: to adopt solutions with domestic forces, and one of the key ones is electoral legislation," concluded Čović.
