Čović opposes reducing the powers of the House of Peoples of FBiH

(Patria) - Dragan Čović, president of HDZ BiH, showing a certain degree of nervousness at the session of the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliament today, spoke categorically, which is very atypical for him, about the proposal to reduce the powers of the House of Peoples of the FBiH Parliament.

He emphasized that "someone wants to abolish this House".

"When someone says they want to abolish a house because they think it will be easier to make decisions. What would it mean to make decisions more easily? In FBiH, it would mean that the dominant majority can make all decisions when they get angry, they don't even have to get angry - in the FBiH Government, in the House of Representatives, and everything is resolved.

When someone tells me and sends me a public message these days that you won't get anything if you don't do this, tell me, is that seeking dialogue or a message 'either you will be good or we will elect someone else instead of a Croat for the fourth time'.

One of the discussions we had at the collegium on how to get out of all this - the desire was to tell everyone that we cannot continue to close our eyes to things that concern others in the way it has been done so far, and to try to communicate with our friends, colleagues, voters through skillful word-finding and create an atmosphere for the 2022 elections.

And what does the term 'pro-Bosnian' mean from a political perspective? It is just an expression used to 'separate someone from someone else'.

That is why it is good that we are talking here, because these people who are now sitting in some offices in Sarajevo (international delegation) want to help us, but I am sure that if this country has any future, they will never make decisions on our behalf again. That's all about the decisions of the former High Representative," Čović emphasized.
