Čović in Zagreb again: Discussed interstate agreement for the construction of the Southern Interconnection with Plenković

(Patria) - A meeting was held today in Zagreb between the Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PA BiH) Dragan Čović, MP in the House of Representatives of PA BiH Darijana Filipović and Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia Andrej Plenković, and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia Gordan Grlić Radman.

The discussion focused on current priorities with a special emphasis on the continuation of European reforms, preparations for the upcoming General Elections in BiH, and issues of particular importance for the Croatian people. Priorities highlighted included the protection of the constitutional equality of the Croatian people, amendments to the electoral legislation, as well as support for the European path, and development and infrastructure projects in BiH.

It was emphasized that the political representatives of the Croatian people in BiH are continuously working on preserving political stability and the functionality of institutions, and that it is necessary to ensure a rapid political step forward in processes that will enable further progress towards the European Union.

Officials also discussed the Southern Gas Interconnection project at this meeting, as well as its importance for supply diversification and BiH's overall energy security. It was pointed out that the completion of the remaining steps is expected, with the upcoming confirmation in both houses of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH in order to sign the necessary interstate agreement by the end of April.

At the end of the meeting, the continued strong support of the Republic of Croatia for BiH's European path, strategic projects, and the achievement of full equality for all three constituent peoples was emphasized.”
