Čović held a meeting with Yee and Cormack: Electoral law reform is in focus

Croatian member of the BiH Presidency Dragan Čović met with Hoyt Brian Yee, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State.

At the meeting, which was also attended by the U.S. Ambassador to BiH Maureen Cormack, they discussed the political situation in BiH and the reforms that need to be implemented in the coming period in order to strengthen institutions, improve the political environment and stability of BiH.

In focus is the reform of the electoral law, which pertains to the implementation of a series of relevant decisions by international and domestic judicial institutions.

The interlocutors agreed that resolving this issue is realistic in the next few months, but with a high degree of determination and commitment from all relevant political actors, as well as mutual trust.

Successful reform outcomes are the best confirmation of genuine commitment to creating positive changes and the only way to strengthen U.S. confidence in the democratic sustainability of BiH and its ability to independently move along the Euro-Atlantic path.

Yee once again expressed his country's support for the affirmation of the Euro-Atlantic perspective of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
