Čović on Dodik's laws: Geopolitical changes have strengthened some forces in BiH

(Patria) - President of HDZ BiH Dragan Čović called for the preservation of peace and stability in BiH and an agreement among the three peoples after the latest escalation of the crisis in the country due to the verdict against Republika Srpska leader Milorad Dodik and the entity's moves aimed at weakening the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- I believe we must maintain absolute peace and stability, both economic and social, but we must do this in peace - Čović said.

He added that solutions must be sought through the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in agreement with the Bosniak and Serb sides and the international community, in order to preserve the stability of the state, ensure the European path, and realize other integration activities.

He states that ensuring equal rights for the three peoples is key on the Euro-Atlantic path.

- We want to ensure constitutional equality for the three constituent peoples, not just Croats, but also Bosniaks and Serbs - throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina - Čović stated.

He assessed that the latest crisis, which arose after Dodik's verdict and the actions of the Republika Srpska authorities, was caused by geopolitical changes.

- I think geopolitical circumstances have strengthened some forces in Bosnia and Herzegovina to initiate their activities - Čović said.
