Čović after meeting with Trojka: We very clearly drew a line on what will be done in FBiH

(Patria) - A meeting of representatives of HDZ BiH and Trojka (SDP BiH, NiP, Our Party), which form the coalition at the FBiH level, was held today in Mostar.

The host of the meeting - HDZ leader Dragan Čović and SDP president Nermin Nikšić - addressed reporters after its conclusion.

Čović said that the discussion exclusively concerned the functioning of the Federation of BiH.

- We very clearly drew a line on what will be done in the Federation. Despite the many problems we have, we are resolving them by agreement. The challenges in the Federation are not political, but economic.

I don't think the prime minister or his deputies need to justify themselves to anyone, looking at the revenue side, the laws, and even fiscal matters.

The level of debt is such that it offers opportunities for much larger investments - stated Čović, adding that he would like work to continue like this until the end of the mandate.

He also mentioned amendments to the Election Law of BiH, saying that it was not discussed at today's meeting.

Čović also said that for HDZ, this is the foundation for the functioning of BiH, especially when it comes to the method of electing members of the BiH Presidency.

- This is a measure for the functioning of government at the state level. This was not the topic today, but you could hear Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and others who have recognized the stability of BiH. This is precisely where the future of BiH is being decided - emphasizes Čović.

He also touched upon the Southern Interconnection project, stressing that discussions on this topic will be intensified in the coming days.

According to him, the adopted Law on the Southern Interconnection is not enforceable in its current form, and he assessed that a way must be found to correct it so that it brings strategic interest to BiH.

- If we blindly implement the law, we will have another standstill. Our goal is to find a solution that will enable its full implementation - added Čović.

Nikšić said that they have reason to "be proud of how the Government fiscally treats the Federation and all budget users".

- We made the latest estimates over the weekend - yesterday we had the opportunity to hear Plenković talk about how much Croatia's debt used to be, and we are below the EU average of 88.2% debt to GDP.

Therefore, in accordance with these agreements, we will continue to work very responsibly. I am sure that we will maintain political stability in the Federation. In FBiH, space is opening up for investment in projects that will benefit all citizens of FBiH.

We are continuing work on transport infrastructure, expressways... We are sure that this will help all citizens.

The Federation has a very clear and precise commitment to support our workers and set a minimum commitment of 1,000 KM. In the coming days, payments and subsidies will be made to those affected - added Nikšić.
