While the non-existent political thought and practice from Sarajevo are preoccupied with neighborhood-spun topics that only superficially resemble political issues, what we have been announcing for months, and what will determine the fate of Bosnia and Herzegovina in a broader sense, has begun.
After celebrating "Maestral" and calling the city of Bosnian kings "Croatian Jajce," forgetting that Zagreb itself was ready to trade for Trebinje, Dragan Čović, with the fitting nickname Džudžan, has begun Operation "Oluja '25".
The body language and calmness in the voice of the HDZ leader do not bode well for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Because "Oluja '25", if successfully realized, will very likely bring the final division of Bosnia and Herzegovina according to the maps from the time of Tuđman and Milošević.
"We are working with all parties, Bosniak and Serb, without exception," Čović said today in Mostar, stating that he has a sufficiently wide pool of greedy political material that will deliver what he has been working on for decades for petty ambitions.
And Čović was interested in, is interested in, and will only be interested in one thing until he gets it - the Election Law tailored to the HDZ, which translates to a third ethnic unit, or to be precise, a third entity. In this light, the nonsense about "Jajce as a Croatian royal city" should be viewed.
It seems that Džudžan is wiser than usual, or knows what is happening behind the scenes, which makes him calmer and react coolly to journalistic "provocations" about the statements of "political colleagues." He is so cool-headed that he doesn't even want to comment.
However, he is very direct in sending the message of what interests him: "The Election Law is waiting in the House of Peoples of BiH, the moment partners who wish well for Bosnia and Herzegovina accept it, it will be released into procedure and adopted as such. I hope in the next month or two".
This sentence hides a riddle that will, in the next month, two, or perhaps three, reveal the fate of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Čović is therefore very confident in international assistance in dismembering Bosnia and Herzegovina, so he no longer even mentions the international factor as such or Christian Schmidt as the High Representative.
He will look for, or has already found, among the pool of Serb-Bosniak political options, those who "wish well for BiH" and are therefore ready to divide the country by delivering the third entity to him. And it's not that we haven't warned the stagnant and non-existent Sarajevo political thought (read fog) about the scenario that makes Čović so calm today, even looking triumphant.
We have wondered before who could be Džudžan's political partner from Sarajevo in the division of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Because, no matter who he talks to in the RS, Čović knows he can count on Dodik because he doesn't encroach on the entity's territory. The talks he announced, through which he will open his wallet and political positions, will resolve the dilemma, but there are only two options - those he avoids commenting negatively on today, or those he praises for doing a good job with him from the FBiH downwards.
The agenda of the meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Berlin Process, scheduled for October 9th at Hillsborough Castle in Northern Ireland, will certainly include the issue of a consociational solution for Bosnia and Herzegovina through what Dragan Čović is seeking.
To secure this, with the usual support from Zagreb, Čović, as he himself says, is having meetings with ambassadors of "friends of BiH's European path" these days. One doesn't need to be particularly perceptive to know what his first topic of conversation will be and that he will use this opportunity to secure the resolution of the Election Law issue in Northern Ireland for October 9th.
Although he triumphantly announces victory in the next month or two, which would be by the end of October, I am almost certain that Čović knows that the entire operation will culminate under the umbrella of the 30th anniversary of the Dayton Peace Agreement.
And information suggests that the issue of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will be initiated in Northern Ireland, could very likely be resolved at the event or events held under the mark of the Dayton anniversary. Čović clearly likes anniversaries, which is why he calmly awaits the moment when, after declaring Jajce "Croatian," he can also declare the third Croatian entity in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
And just as I announced in the spring, while we in Sarajevo were washing our brains and mouths with Dodik, Minić, Stevandić, and God knows what other nonsense, while we were investigating whether Almir Džuvo (Director of OSA BiH) drove or sat next to Dodik on the way to the BiH Court on the orders of the British, Dragan Čović entered us from behind and very likely caused chaos with a questionable possibility of Bosnia and Herzegovina's recovery.
Today it is clear that it was not worth warning the Sarajevo's right-wing public opinion, because who cares if the country is divided, let's see if Dodik's government is constitutional and how we will deal with Dodik.
And Džudžan is preserving our peace, stability, and will still tear us apart in silence. And let him, since we are chickens, not to say turkeys!
